Hi,
I planning to purchase a new motherboard and cpu to fix a 7300gt ddr3.
So which way should i go-intel or amd?i heard that amd is going to cease
socket 939 and introducing am2 socket in india also.So should i wait it to reach here or go for the am2.pls advice.

Which mother board and cpu if go for a intel one?
My plan is to invest rs 11,000 for the both.
Thanks in advance.

I have been quoted the following prices for an amd cofiguration from cochin.

asus a8n-vm geforce 6100 motherboard-Rs 4000.

Amd64 3000+-Rs4950

Amd64 3200+-Rs 5700.
What about these figures?should i bargain on this.Pls tell me wether the
prices are okay or not.

i would say go for dual core :) coz single core wouldnt serve u well for long :) and do tell us what u intend on doing with ur computer i mean its purpose :)

Basically for gaming purpose, sir.next comes e-mail and surfing.
I view all my dvd's and hear music in my 7500 watts sony gn 88d
Now i need to add a nvidia 7300gt ddr3 to my upcoming motherboard.
I wish not to go for dual core this time and now on a limited budget.

Hi
someone pls review the following prices i have been offered. Are the okay?

asus a8n-vm geforce 6100 motherboard-Rs 4000.

Amd64 3000+-Rs4950

Amd64 3200+-Rs 5700.

Unless you intend to use your comp for restricted use, like MS office, some minor gaming and a little programming, don't restrict yourself to a single core. I recommend dual cores for long term use, simply because they improve productivity, even from a home user point of view

:) :) Compared to Bangalore prices the prices you have been quoted are very high...See if there are other dealers in your place who will give the procs at a lower price...also remember the 939 socket is prob going to be phased out by december....with that ddr mem will be hard and expensive to find...if u plan too use it for a long time:) :)

AMD X2 3800+ 8.5k and Asus A8N-VM 3-4K(i'm not sure of the exact price)
If you are not going to overclock. Atleast this is what i've decided to buy for my new pc.
