also im getting the following config for 18641 do you think its worth it

Nope I think that this is too much for that config... with slight bargaining you can get the above for 18,640/- :bleh:

And 40GB only would be a waste coz the diff between that and 80GB is very less.

chee chee, look what switch has done to u :P

but yea, the price for the same look ok, go for a 120 or a 160 gig HDD coz the price difference between them is not that much...

Not to forget 256mb is a waste. get atleast 1gig ram and get 3000+ you will save on the proccy and will get more RAM. You might also want to look at a diff gfx card if you gonna game.

guys i need a serious answer its a branded compaq computer
and thats the standard config i can add stuff later
heres the link
i am planning to buy this day after tommorow
its not going to be for gaming

thats a good price for a branded pc.. most pcs for that price come with a sempron or such

im not going for an assembled pc b'coz im getting a pretty good price
both the pcs ive got now are assembled by me

For Rs.18.6K good price here. since it is a venice core 3200+ cpu. you can upgrade the memory to 512 /1 gb later on for realistic use of it..
however @ http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=333129&pfp=srch1&ref=cj&pfp=cj

They have a similar model but with sempron cpu and without monitor. but a price of $125 makes it a very sweet deal. sigh !!

perhaps they are offloading to make way for newer socket 939 sempron cpu's to be introduced soon ......

Branded PC's are the worst.

My frnd have a Compaq, his pc wouldnt boot.

Compaq engineer came after 6 days. RAM Problem. Lol...

My other frnd, has an HCL, support sucks, his engineer came after 8 days :bleh:.

Not to mention he took the computer to the HCL Service Center, to get it checked. Turned out to be another RAM Problem. Lol....

Assembled + TE.. Best Brand you can get :ohyeah:

Not to forget, their monitors suck. Especially compaq, also the cabinet is gonna be a prob too, they like to squeeze everything.

Guys , Suhayl just wants to know whether the price of the stuff he has listed is ok or not.

he does not want to know about merits / demerits of branded pc's or their after sales service , and other blah , blah ......
Since he has clearly mentioned that he already has 2 (self) assembled m/c with him.
