Storage Solutions help with usb 3 pen drive buying

I am going to buy a pen drive 256 GB USB3. Since small size and portability is important I am considering pen drive rather than SSD with enclosure. It will hold about 50 -60 GB data initially but then it can incrementally add up to about 130 -140.

I was wondering if you have any suggestions. I have a few sandisk & kingston ones but one with metal case heatup fast and also I notice varying speeds from 7 -8 MB to even 40 MB/s. I see prices between 1700 – 2000. Please suggest. thanks
