Linux Help with visual experience in Arch

Hey friends, I just installed and configured Arch. It was really an awesome experience. And I learned a lot from it. I choosed KDE as my preffered DE.

Now the problem is fonts are really bad and UI is not as it is in other KDE. I use KDE in Fedora too but the UI and fonts are much better there.

I know as Arch is "the way you make it", I'm missing something. That's the thing I want to know what am I missing.

Ofcourse I tried wiki and #archlinux, but I didn't find nothing helpfull.

I'm attaching some screenshots here so that you can understand what am I missing.

Please help me. What should I install?? What should I do..??

For more reference I must mention I've already installed dejavu and ms fonts as mentioned in Beginner's Wiki.

Well...I did try changing the themes...but it changes only the colours of windows nothing more than that. As you can see in the snapshots FF is looking so ugly. I thought there might me some issue with KDE, so I installed GNOME too and the case is same too there.

As far I think Fedora and Other Distributions modified the DE which Arch doesn't. So I think I need to do those things manually as Arch is "do it yourself" type distro. So what should I modify and what about fonts..??

Well...I saw that wiki before too...but didn't got time yesterday to try those. I'll try those things today. BTW as I use KDE in Fedora too and it's looking Awesome....can't I just copy the configuration or preferences files from there to Arch??

Verbatim copy paste from Wiki

Fonts

If by default, the fonts in KDE look poor, try installing the ttf-dejavu and ttf-liberation packages. After the installation, be sure to log out and back in. You should not have to modify any settings in the "Fonts" panel of the KDE System Settings application.

If you have personally set up how your Fonts render, be aware that System Settings may alter their appearance. When you go System Settings > Appearance > Fonts System Settings will likely alter your font configuration file (fonts.conf). There is no way to prevent this but if you set the values to match your fonts.conf file the expected font rendering will return (it will require you to restart your application or in a few cases for you to have to restart your desktop). Note too that Gnomes' Font Preferences will also do this if you use both desktop environments.

Also, If above didn't solve the issue or you need more control over fonts. read this:

Font Configuration - ArchWiki

its best Article about Font Config on Linux across all distros, I think

Tempted to try a linux distro just for the kicks! It's been nearly 2 years now since I last played with one :P Which one should I go for? My favorite, Arch or Ubuntu?

Thanks Gaurish. :)

@Pat, Go with Arch, manual configuration will be a nice experience :)
