HELP : Xbox360 Games Query

Hey,

My bro just picked up an Xbox360 Pro from SG, and I was wondering if it would run the games if I purchased them off eBay.com/.co.uk or are they region locked ?

If they are region locked, then which regions would work ? Is it advisable/safe to get the 360 modded from say Palika in that case ?

Most Xbox games are region free. If you bought a Indian Xbox al UK games will work on it AFAIK.

Check playasia. They are usually good at listing the region of 360 games.

DO NOT GET IT MODDED! Warranty gone and you have a nice heater.
 
^^ No there are three regions - PAL, NTSC-U/C and NTSC - J.

Please check your region. Only region free games and your region games will work.
 
Yep there are 3 regions like bf1983 pointed out. Most Ubisoft & MS titles are region free while almost all of EA titles are region coded. Just check out the region compatibility chart at play-asia to confirm.
 
Void of Warranty for one. Getting banned off Xbox Live if detected. At this point it's very risky to mod a 360.
 
^^ Well you could get used games off GamingIndians.com for far less less than retail prices.

For e.g. I bough Call of Duty 3 for 700 bucks when a new one costs Rs 2510 !!!!

I say buy used games ONLY. The only new game I recommend is Gears of War for Rs 999 (one of my favourite non RPG game).

In fact I have only 1 brand new game (since it was not available in India).

Otherwise I have 4 used games. So I have saved a bundle and my Xbox still has the RROD warranty !!! :)
