PC Peripherals Help!!!

Plwase tell me wat to do guys ive got a 7 k budget to upgrade my comp,so wat i was thinking of buying a second hand (AGP) Geforce 6600gt or a may be 6800 plain,but after a lot of considerations i tout is it worth paying nearly 7k and getting a card which will last for may be another 6 months ie with all the eye candy turned off, or should i change my mobo and proce and shift to pcie

Can someone help.
 
Buy Amol's 6800 plain it can play games @1024x768 with 4xAA & 8xAF at medium to high detail.

accumalate money for 6 months then buy a Intel Conroe Processor+Motherboard & a good Graphics Card.
 
yea, i wouldnt switch to pci-e just yet as DX 10/vista will be coming out. so yea, a 6800 should hold u off for a bit...

but Udit, those settings u listed in most all of the new games out won't really be possible... unless u like happy lag.
 
@ Udit - Stop acting like a noob and telling everybody to buy Conroe. You don't know anything about that platform, I doubt you did even 1% research on its architecture (I haven't so I don't comment).

@ Bensley - Pick the 6800 m8, I'll help you sell it off also ;)

i have researched a lot on conroe coz i wanted to know how it defeated amd :bleh:

And now one link changes your whole perspective. For God's sake, first buy a product and then brag about it.

This goes to both Udit & Goldenfrag. No offence to both, just my personal observation, which many members will agree upon.
 
Well, i never said anything about AM2.
I did say im eagerly waiting for it, but so what?
Now im eagerly waiting for Conroe.

^^ Nopes not at all. Infact I just assembled a Celeron D based rig for my freind (only to find out Darky was selling one :ashamed:)..

I'll surely buy Intel if it gives better "Gaming performance and OC'ability" cause those are the only two factors that decide my proccy.
