Re: Helping Friend in assembling his first PC tomorrow, suggest a good Config. for 50

Components Description Price (INR)

Processor AMD Phenom II X4 945(3Ghz, 4 cores, 6MB L3 Cache) 6900

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3/ MSI 880GMA-E45 5700

RAM 4GB(2*2) G. Skill 1333MHz DDRIII 4600

HDD 1TB Seagate 7200.12 3000

GPU Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5/ MSI Hawk HD5770 1GB GDDR5 9000/9300

Monitor Benq G2220HD 7700

Cabinet NZXT Gamma/ CM Elite 430 2200/2700

PSU/SMPS Corsair VX 450 3600

Key Board Logitech SET - Optical Blk Mouse+ MMKB 700

Mouse NA -

ODD Samsung/ Sony OEM SATA DVD-Writer 950

Speakers Altec Lansing 2.1 BXR1121 950

Total 45100/45900

So the APC 650VA costs ~ 2.9k and the Belkin wifi card costs ~0.7k. Also u have the budget to go for a basic gaming mouse like the Gigabyte 6800~0.65k/ better speakers like the Altec Lansing VS2621 ~ 1.65k.
AMD offers more VFM as it throws in USB 3.0 ports in sub 6k mobos and u can get decent quad core for 7k. Its better to go for a quad core proccy as u are planning to keep the rig for 3 years or so.

Try SMC Intl. He is a dealer in TE too. Else check Computer Empire. Cost to Cost have a bad reputation in TE for selling fake Nvidia GPUs. A member here was sold a fake 9600GT. So bewares.

Thanks DarkAngel.... is it possible for you to shower me some light on led hype, thanks. this is a big caution for me to be cleared of.

For UPS, if you need a cheaper option. Look at Numeric 600va model - It costs Rs.1650/- I am using the same from year or so. no problems, works nicely

Re: Helping Friend in assembling his first PC tomorrow, suggest a good Config. for 50

As far as I can tell there's not much visual difference between LED and LCD monitors except for the power consumption(LED's specialty) and contrast ratio(dynamic) where LED's win. It also depends on the models you're looking at.

Price wise, in your range you should go for what's been recommended to you by DarkAngel. ++1 for DA's config :thumb:.
