[HELPLESS] Unable to Uninstall, Install or Repair VMware.

I have had Vmware installed in my machine and i tried uninstalling it. When i did so i get the error as

Now instead of uninstalling i chose the option on repair and it suggested me that instead of repairing i should run the original installer again.
So i went ahead and again ran the main setup of Vmware and when i tried installing it it gave me the following error

So now i am in a deadlock situation where i am neither able to re-install the application and not able to uninstall it too. What can i do to remove it ?? :huh:

Tried couple of 3rd party uninstall tools but they were useless.

first try to boot pc in safe mode and repare/uninstall the sw. if it fails try system restore, to restore your pc to to a previous working state.

^^Problem is there is no restore point so restoring to previous state is not possible.

As of now VMWARE is uninstalled but the UMG1831 drivers fail to get installed. Check my thread in networking section about this. It is a know issue but it gets resolved after VMware is uninstalled, i did that but UMG1831 fails to install.

Try performing a clean up of VMWare and then install the 1831 drivers.

Execute the vmware.exe with the /c switch. If somehow it is not working, clean it up manually using this:

Manually cleaning the Windows system

To manually clean up the Windows system, follow these steps.

Log on to the Windows host system as the Local Administrator or a member of the Local Administrators group.

Stop these services on the Windows host:

VMware Authentication Service

VMware Registration Service

VMware DHCP Service

VMware NAT Service

Uninstall the VMware network bridge adapter.

Click Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections.

Right-click any network adapter icon and choose Properties.

Select VMware Bridge Protocol and click Uninstall.

Uninstall all VMware devices.

Right-click My Computer and select Manage.

Click Device Manager.

Double-click Network Adapters.

Right-click each adapter whose name begins with VMware and select Uninstall.

Choose Show hidden devices from the View menu.

Double-click Non-Plug and Play Drivers.

Right-click these devices and choose Uninstall.

^^Thanks a lot dude. This thing saved me. Why the hell cant Vmware uninstall itself COMPLETELY and bothers other apps and drivers
I was going to install windows 7 altogether again just because this thing was not working. You saved me man. Thumb rule now, no way install this Vmware on my windows 7 again. Repped you dude.

To answer your question, VMWare has features which allow you to connect the virtual PC to the host through a virtual network adaptor. It is really useful to connect your VPC to the net by sharing the hosts internet connection. It even allows NAT'ting as an additional form of security for the VPC. I've seen some people who perform all online money transactions ONLY on a VPC, coz of the additional security. Now because of all these "features" there must be side-effects, that is why sometimes it complicates the drivers which caused your problem.

If you would still like a virtualization alternative, try Microsoft Virtual PC which has less bells and whistles and works decently without messing up as much.
