But every time I reply on any thread, it says in red letters that my reply is being moderated and won't appear to others. Does this happen with everybody here here regardless of their rankings? If not, how can I improve my ranking enough to interact freely here?

It takes a few hours for the moderators to approve your reply (since you're new) and then it will be visible.
