There is a PC in my parents room which was recently bought. Its got an Asus WL-167G V3 WIFI Dongle.
My router & modem is kept next to the room which is a hall. The problem is that I'm getting very high pings & timeouts to the router. And sometimes the pings are fine.
While the pings from my room which is on the other side of the hall is perfectly fine.
I tried Netstumbler but its not supporting the Asus Dongle.
The router is also Asus version G.
Any idea what to do ?
Some additional details -
My router runs on Tomato. I increased the transmission power from 42 to 72, still no good.
The signal bar on PC is at full always. When I checked the Device List in the router the quality of the PC is 4 while the laptop in my room is at 27.
I re-installed the drivers & still no good.
