I am planning on setting up a zacate based htpc. Working on power no, it didnt even reached 70,80 watt at max load. Apart from MB and memory, there will be a bunch of hard drives. May be a blu ray drive. Thats about it.

Is there any good quality (80+ bronze) psu that is available in india. 250-300w max is what i need.

Get yourself a FSP Saga II 350W PSU ~ 1.6K OR Seasonic S12IID Bronze 430W ~ 2.5K OR Corsair CX 400W ~ 2.7K. All are available at S.P. Road at Golccha Inter-Trade, Ankit Infotech and Aashirwaad Peripherals (not very sure of the Seasonic model, but rest can be found in Bangalore). There are no reliable PSU's in India below these outputs. Hope this helps.

FSP would be the best for budget users. Quality is also very reliable!! And skip all generic smps which might ruin your PC components.

80+ bronze PSUs arent available in sub 450w market

you can try Corsair CX400 for efficiency or the Seasonic one Alpha17 suggested

No please don't do that you'll regret it, better get a decent PSU you'll have some breathing space for later upgrades.

I want this system to be very small. Just a few hdd for media and the MB. A really sweet and compact system just for playing 1080p. Only accessory i see is a MCE remote and a wireless adaptor.

I got a quad core desktop with d.gfx for any other heavy lifting. Even a future BD drive will go to the desktop, as it will get ripped in there.
