Hi guys,
I know watching a 45mins you tube video on 240p will take ~100mb and watching the same on 420p would take ~350mb.
WHat's the point in buying a HD monitor and watching not so HD videos ?? :p
But what about browsing pages? Will browsing in a 1080p monitor and a 1440p monitor take more band width too? Like say googling for some images and stuff??
Because 30GB bandwidth limit for 2mbps gets over for me in 20days. Does'nt even last for a month.
Streaming a TV show/you tube vids for an hour and a half and browsing for 2 hours take my daily usage to 1GB+ easily. Now I'm not even able to seed T0rR3nt$.
Thinking about taking 80Gb plan from airtel for 500/- extra .. (which is quite expensive for just having fun). I'm already paying 1500+ for 30GB 2mbps.

What do you guys do? How do u manage all these within the bandwidth? Is 30GB too low these days? Considering we live online and like to watch HD videos :D

Please share some details .

Thanks :)

We shift to Reliance. :)

Care to share what plan you have and how much you pay?

Thanks.
@raksrules - I do that too buddy. Still these days , I do everything online from banking to shopping and replacing TV. It saves me lot of time and allows me to enjoy whatever I want whenever I want :)

I am on Thunder six ninety nine plane. Its a fixed line, wired connection.

Thanks a lot. I'll check it out. Is the connection continuous? I make business oriented skype calls day in and day out and if the connections disconnects for a fraction of a second , it might cost me.
If u don't mind , can you tell me which city ur from ?

There are reliability issues with reliance. Get them couple of times in a month. YMMV. But otherwise its going fine. I am from Gurgaon, Haryana.

I am now paying around 675 Rs per month for no FUP 1 Mbps Unlimited.
As of now satisfied with the service.
Service of YOU is not reliable everywhere so always inquire with existing users in YOUR AREA before you take a plunge.

Registered for Thunder 1099 :D Will see how it is . Hopefully it's as good as airtel. Thanks a lot for the info :)

^Not far from airtel, VERY far. Reliance can never match Airtel, thus the difference in cost.

Anyone in pimple saudagar area using Iconnect broadband?
it's the only available isp in my area having no FUP as of now.
Wanted to know if anybody using same, can share via dc++

Am I missing something?am I the only one who had a good laugh after reading post#1?

how high-resolution MONITOR can results in more bandwidth consumption unless you watch high resolution videos on them?

Monitor has nothing to do with bandwidth.

I am on an 8mbps line by airtel with a 100GB cap. Costs a bomb at 2000 bucks. But it works for me. Pings are good for games and their service is impressive. The two things I care about. (Maybe I am saying this because I don't pay :) ) Even otherwise few connections are stable enough for smooth online play. My second choice would be BSNL, which for some reason has served me well.

What I meant to ask was , will the web pages be displayed in ultra HD for 1440p and hence take more BW compared to a 1080p monitor.

I dont think the monitor resolution or size affects the bandwidth. But yes when it comes to streaming videos, sites like YouTube etc do recognize you having faster connection (your monitor size does not matter) and might play videos in higher quality.

Yes.. I know that. But what about web pages where images are put up along with content? Will the resolution of images differ the same way? When I'm browsing.
