Wanted to buy one of these new compact digicams with HD 720p video recording and pretty much settled for the upcoming Sony DSC WX1: Sony releases DSC-WX1 & TX1 with Exmor R sensor: Digital Photography Review
While browsing for other models I noticed Casio has some "High Speed" video models as you can see here and I'm looking at the Exilim EX-FC100: EXILIM | CASIO DIGITAL CAMERAS | CASIO
This high speed video stuff seems like a nifty feature, even though it's gimmicky with the resolution becoming very small at those framerates but the demo videos look very cool, check them out:
EXILIM | CASIO DIGITAL CAMERAS | CASIO
EXILIM | CASIO DIGITAL CAMERAS | CASIO
Couple of questions:
Does anyone have first hand experience with any such high speed compact digicams with respect to quality/usefulness of the videos?
Any other models to recommend besides the Sony and the Casio, especially for high speed video?
(For just HD 720p video I already have a list of cameras to look at and already shortlisted the Sony.)
