As promised here's an update on this!

The piece turned out to be a "Zenith Director Consumer Laptop"

My folks went down to the HT office in Mumbai (Parel, I think it was) and collected the laptop and waited for me to come home. When I did, at first sight I was slightly disappointed at the sight of the cheap rexine-ish looking bag. But when I opened it up and raised the lappie lid, I was pleasantly surprised to see an ATi sticker! On further digging around, I found a spec-sheet, which was kinda surprising!

All in all, a very VERY decent deal for 20k, and defintely worth the 6k [:D] Personally the best part for me is that it's a naked laptop - no OS! A slight issue though - I don't have any Ubuntu/Kubuntu CDs lying around, so can someone help me with this? Anyone have any 8.04 CD/DVD with them that they're looking to give away? Preferably in Thane, although anywhere in Mumbai will do. I'm even willing to pay shipping charges if someone could courier me a CD/DVD of 8.04 [:)]
