Planning to buy a new 500GB External HDD.
Confused between Hitachi Touro Pro USB 3.0 500 GB External Hard Disk and WD My Passport 500 GB External Hard Disk.

I find a price difference of around Rs. 200 bw them but Hitachi having 7200RPM and a better look(ur opinion might be different) makes me wanna go with it.
But WD's warranty policy and known to be better (although my Dell Laptop has a Hitachi, no problem yet) are attracting points. But again Hitachi is now a WD company.

So my confusion ends to following questions and whose answer i'm looking for to make a decision:
  1. Is there any difference of warranty/RMA policy of Hitachi and WD?
  2. Which one is better in performance(keeping 7200RPM in mind, don't know RPM for WD)?
  3. Does any of the company provide a pick-up of HDD from my place in delhi, or i have to visit service centre?

2. People are reporting issues with WD Passport. If you don't need the fancy software, and are particular to WD, go for the Elements.
