When i was looking for a external storage solution i came across various casings. The most widely seen in mumbai was the Transcend Storejet. And it had some positive feedback from my friends and dealers. So i decided to pick it up.

It came with the casing, carry pouch, USB data cable, USB power cable, Driver CD for Windows 98, Installation Guide, Warranty Card.

The power cable is only needed when the usb data cable is not able to supply enough power to the casing. I have had no issues using this casing only with data cable.

Casing Connectors

The IDE connector

Removing the two screws reveals this IDE connector which attaches to the 2.5" HDD.

The case is sturdy and feels secure. The Hard disk fits perfectly inside, and the inside of the casing has thin shock resistant pads which also avoids movement of hard disc inside the casing.

[BREAK=Conclusion]
I was in the market to look for portable storage solution which is not too expensive and easy to carry around as my laptop hard disk was running out of space and filling with the junk files.
The Hitachi travelstar is a very quiet and cool running hard disc. It did not get hot even after prolonged operations for me.
The casing is solid, sturdy and comes with nice carry pouch which has compartment to carry driver disc and data cables too.
Overall i am very satisfied with the purchase.

Prices

Transcend Casing : Rs.1150
Hitachi travelstar 80GB Hard disc : Rs.3850

My rating : 9/10 for both casing and hard disc

I have no idea about that. But if the player supports USB mass storage then it will support this hdd. How well the videos run @ usb 1.1 speeds is whole different story though.
