Rumors of a new Hitman game have been doing the rounds for a while now and today, Square Enix officially confirmed its existence. Hitman Absolution as it’s called will allow players to delve deeper into the mind of everyone’s favorite bald assassin, Agent 47, offering gameplay that will appease both veterans and newcomers alike.
Here’s what the game’s director, Tore Blystad, had to say, “For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy. This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience from other Hitman games; something our silent assassins will relish, as will all those new to the Hitman world.â€
The press release further promises “new features never seen before in the Hitman franchiseâ€. We're not too sure what these new features could be but we’re guessing it could be some sort of multiplayer or co-operative gameplay. Either way we’ll get to know more at E3 2011 which is where Square plans on showcasing gameplay.
Hitman Absolution will release sometime next year for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
