This is now becoming a new trend. You cancel a service and they say ok on the customer care and still billing goes on

Seen this with

Internet Services - Hathway (threatening to do lok adalat)
DTH - Airtel (prepaid, but the balance was for something else)
Mobile - Airtel (again, after all, #Chortel)

Suggestions on how to tackle these?

In my case with Hathway, the connection has stopped at 2 months or so. They are now asking after 1.5 years or so...
For hathway disconnection you have to physically walk into their office and submit the router etc device. This is to be done once your plan expires. They will then process your deposit etc within 2 months or so. They will also lure you with unreal offers it's then up to you.

If its a postpaid connection then just before next cycle call cc and ask to generate request id and to shoot you an email with relevant details.
Once done walk in their office and do as above.

Someone came and took the router away...
