I m planning to upgrade my system but I m confused.:S
My friend suggested me to buy AMD 3600+ and overclock it.He told me to save cash now n wait for nxt gen 45nm based processor from AMD n Intel.
But I was thinking to buy 4300 or 6420 n overclock them.

I have already bought X-fi sound card,XFX 8800GTS (320mb) and Corsair 620 Watt PSU.

My main purpose to upgrade is to play Games like Prey,F.E.A.R,HL-2 ( I know these games are very old but I have to finish them :P ) and nxt gen games like UT-3,Crysis,Area-51 Backsite, Biosock, Timeshift.

So someone plz suggest me.

:) If you wait you will be waiting till infinity....I wonder how you are waiting with a 8800gts in your hands :bleh: :bleh:

However wait for two weeks till first of aug...buy a e6750 or if you have more dough e6850 and a P35 based chipset and you are all set...:hap2:

Every time I see my 8800GTS it hurts :P
As I have burnt a hole in my pocket by buying Graphics,PSU I want to save some cash.
So I m more int in buying something which can overclock alot and save my cash couz I will be definetly tempted to buy a new CPU once nxt gen Processor start coming in at affordable prices i.e somewhere nxt year Q2;)
But same time I want to make sure that I m able to play all the games mentioned above by are playable @ 1024 x 786 with high settings.

Dude whats your budget for cpu+mobo????

I guess 3600+ will be like a bottleneck with 8800Gts.....

Deepak will clear your doubt abt that....

if u can mention your budget than we can advice u..if its 10k ard for both..go for intel setup..but if u r strict at ard say 8k or less than that than we will suggest amd setup......jus mention your budget

I have no budget limitation right now as I want to chk all the option avail but I want Bang for Bucks I spend from now on without bottlenecking my card.

:) I would suggest wait for intel's July 22nd price cut...should be reflected in aug 1st week here..buy the xfx 650i and a say 6550...You can even go for a6600 if you are tight on cash...not much practical diff between the 1333Mhz and 1066Mhz fsb....less then that might be a bottleneck for your gpu

Than i suggest wait for july 22 price crash..and get e6750 ......

I guess by 1st week of august ull see price reflection in indian market.....jus hope the premium they charge is not insane.....

and for mobo xfx 650i bang for the money right now......jus to mention rashi is their distributors.....and if u by any chance in mumbai than i would suggest to go with gigabyte model..as rashi has the most suking after sales support here...or find a good dealer who can give u a backup kit while your stuff is in rma....like theitwares guys

Lets say my budget is around 10k I dont mind spending 1-2k extra if I can get significant performance boost. But I love to get mobo under 10k couz more I save here more I can spend on better quality RAM.

And plz also suggest me 2GB RAM.

10-12k range

Xfx 650i + proccy get either e6550 ..

and if u can get e6750 than get that but dont increase your budget too much for 6750 if it ask big premium...

later 6-8months down the line quad core will get cheaper and u might get tempted....keep that in mind

For ram ill suggest kingston 1gb*2 667mhz ram available easily for 1.9-2.1k each...i guess they oc well plus 5 years warranty..but do clarify first with the dealer abt warranty

Hdd shopping done???

if not get 2 of them 320gb is vfm right now....but u can settle for 1 250gb(2.7k sata) and other one higher gb....1 for only os....and another for data so that your data remains safe...i dont think ull try raid stuff ....

Thnx for quick replies guyz

I was thinking to get AMD 4000+ or 4200+ and overclock it will be very cheap.

Which mobo is good for them??

And I can get RAM from USA also so suggest me some good RAM.Not the really exp ones but in 4-4.5k range.

You can go to memoryconfigurator.com - they have all sorts of ram for all sorts of budgets, shipping is cheap too, only 10 euros for ram modules, you will need a intl CC tho...

Thnx for the info dude but my friend is coming nxt month from usa so I can get RAM through him also :)

Thats the best option - but i would suggest, if you have any other high value purchases to make, let your friend get that from the US and then get the ram online - you will have more savings ....
