Yesterday I call to my techie. friend who is Freelance Consumer Electronics Service Center (from last 5-6 years) for... he suggest to buy Whirlpool Refrigerator & Videocon Washing Machine.

Even i am looking to buy a new washing machine. I have an old fully automatic BPL washing machine. Can this be exchanged? and how is the service backup of Whirlpool.

well whirpool gives 2 year warranty after which u can choose extra 2 years paid warranty,so any parts that goes wrong are covered so u need not pay a paisa .their front loading washing machines are built strongly the same cannot be said for their top loading ones, which uses complex gearbox system to turn the agitator.which from my research i find that it doesnt perform well compared to front loading ones .
from my own research whirpools service is much better then its rival IFB,which for some unknown reason every dealer recommends.
IFB own sales departement told me not to buy IFB new DIGITAL range of front loading washing machines and their top loading ones since according to him has a high failure rate.
even their 26k washing machines if u look at most of the places in bangalore the door open/close buttons are missing .some IFB washing machines door seal gasket are deforming which again seen in most showrooms,IFB washing machines also use a plastic dome except the 30k model ,which over time is prone to scratches which again can be seen in showrooms even though they havent been used, also all IFB washing machines except the 30k models have a door that does not shut solidly, the door latch is made of plastic which feels like it could break any second.

Samsung is a good brand. Stay away from IFB, that's got the worst A.S.S. in the market. I got a front loading washing machine 'Elena', and spent around 50% of the cost on spares/changing stuff. Whereas other Samsung fully automatic is going strong.

I would recommend to buy a simple machine with less options, don't go for ones having '32 different modes' etc. Buy something that needs one single adjustment most of the times.

Increase budget a bit and go for fully automatic only, you'll save quite a daily hessle of shifting clothes!
