I have 2 computers connected via a cable (no switch) PC and Notebook
PC is connected directly to the net, and serves as gateway
Notebook is connested to PC via a straight cable
The computers are unable to see each other in netwrok neigbourhood, nor able to share resources. BUT the TCP/IP copnnection works, the Internet is shared perfectly, no problems at all. Even Remote desk top works, no problems.
In the Notebook network neighbourhood, we can see the notebook itself and the shared devices. On the PC cannot acces network neighbourhood.
This setup had worked for about 3-4 days then stopped working. I had the same problem with the old PC where it worked for a few months and then gave up, I had assumed it was a hardware problem But since I have same problem with new PC, I guess its some other problem.
Both machines run NAV
any suggestions - thoughts. ?
