Home Painting Discussion

Today went to couple of paint shops for putty and to my surprise found huge difference in prices, Birla and JK costs 750 each where as Berger putty cost only 450. Anyone know why there is so much difference in cost as Berger is not some local company with substandard quality?

Also Shop owner tried to convince me to buy Nerolac Apex instead of Asian paints Apex, He told that Nerolac is cheaper with same quality so I am not sure if thats true.
My relative used Nerolac around 10yrs back and he was satisfied back then, Not sure about now

I am from Lucknow and i guess my carpet area is somewhere around 6~7k sq ft (maybe more) but 10k sounds lot cheaper. I had an option to wait 10 days for another known painter who is willing to charge 50rs less but I can't wait that long so went with the current cheapest.
He insisted to buy Birla white putty but I've opted to 3 times costlier waterproof putty for whole house (we don't paint the house daily) Also inquired about the Asian paints rates and the shop owner told that Apex will cost 5.5k where as 7.5k for Apcolite for a bucket of 20L (White)
The prices here are more or less accurate: https://aapkapainter.com/paints/asian-paints-prices/1
What colours did this consultant recommend? Complimentary colours between walls and say doors or windows isn't hard to figure out.
It is not the question of what colours but how colors were used to make the room either big or small / narrow or wider / cozy or open. My bedroom is 364 ft (26 x 14). The combination of colors makes the room look not too big and long. The projections and recesses in the walls are used to provide a break in the length of the wall by using different shades. The formal room (a room at the entrance of the house) has a color combo that makes it look much bigger than the 12 x 12 that it is along with the choice of flooring.

The Dark Maroon and Grey combination in my Home Theater lend a different character to it while also fulfilling the role of absorbing the reflected light from the projector screen. So, it is not just about complementary colors but it is about using Colors to add to the visual appeal of the structural challenges (example: the false ceiling and beams).

I am not much into color combinations so which color would compliment this type of floor, I need to decide today as it will be needed tomorrow

Off white or as I used the cotton wool by Asian paints

Why are you in a rush? Who imposed this deadline? Try a colour consultant if you can.

Otherwise you will end up using the same colours for the rest of your life.

We had a similar brown floor. We went with the shade Mica Matte L142 from Asian paints. Its is of the off-white family as suggested by @blr_p

For another room we went for Cream Silk 7955

I don't have a room for past 4 days and now its getting onto my nerve, my work productivity have gone down drastically so I want this done and get back to my life. Since its my bed room/WFH office I don't want to messup while on call with clients.
