Hello Good TE Folks
Building PC ( after nearly 14+ years  ) as a home server for local dev + self hosting + NAS. I am extremely unsure of following parts. Kindly suggest part ( possibly try to avoid RGB and support linux (Ubuntu/Proxmox)):-
1. Motherboard:
- Needs lots of Expansion and storage slots. Good IO ( like 2.5 or 10G NICs )
- Good thermal and power management
- Lasts long
- A bit Future proof
2. RAM:
- Stable 128 GB DDR5 RAM
3. PSU
- Having difficulty reading PSU Tier List by CultistsNetwork and co-relating it to local units
- Shall I buy a PSU for my current needs ( ~500W ) or for a speculative future ( ~1000+ W )
4. Is "Samsung 980 Pro 1TB" good. Or can I get something similar/better in comparable price

Thanks in advanced

Looks like a solid spec!
You may want to consider something else for Samsung 980 Pro 1TB. May be 970 Evo Plus, its gen 3 but stable and without any of the issues that plague Samsung 980 Pro.
