Hi there !! my friend just bought some hot shit !!
carada 128" screen
dyna-audio setup
Panasonic PT-AE2000U Home Theater Projector
TX-SR875 receiver

he wants to hook them up to his HTPC, i just know his mobo - Abit I-N73HD !!

can anyone help US ? how to connect them hmm ?
one more Q . HDMI takes both audio+video right ? then what is the role of receiver then ? ... I am new to this stuff ! :bleh:

thxxxxxxxxx

we arent here all day looking at TE- some of us have lives :P

now , to your question - it seems to have HDMI and Optical out. Either of these should work :)

The role of the reciever is , well, to recieve the HDMI signal ( along with other signals from other sources ) and switch them correctly to the correct outputs as well as amplification, format conversion and encoding/decoding

PS: how much did it cost ?

i dont have any idea...may be ~2lacs or more..so wt cables do we require for the video and audio part ? speakers are already hooked up to the receiver !

was asking about the mobo . should have been a bit more clearer :ashamed:

yup- you'll need an HDMI cable anyway for the video .Try if you can get the audio over HDMI as well- you might need some special drivers/tweaking. But you get more convenience.

if that doesnt work, the optical cable should take care of the audio

Will the HDMI from the mobo go to the receiver or directly to the projector ? I guess it should connect to the projector

nope, the reciever, since

1) we're trying to piggyback the audio onto the HDMI as well

2) what if he has some other video sources

i have the same question ^^ ? and optical from the sound card to receiver right ?

if you cant get the audio to work over HDMI

^^i see...ok ! if we want just the video from the HDMI then its the projector right ?? since the audio will be coming via toshlink (sound card ---> receiver)

thanks..anything about the black bars ? he doesnt want those on the screen..he has hd 1080p x264 rips !

that projector is 1080 native resolution. the bars shouldn't come when viewing 16:9 material!

have you set the resolution of the PC to 1920x1080 ?
