Was in Chembur on Saturday, and stopped at a milkshake counter near Chembr Stn East for a drink. Next store is a soda pub. Both had a common garbage bin which had the used cups. This was buzzing with honeybees.

Wondering if the lack of open spaces/flowers is making them seek alternative sources. The sugar used in the soda pubs is for the lack of a better word, corn syrup, maybe? So will the hives being made have natural sugars?

Wish I had taken a pic! Have never seen this. Maybe this is akin to sugar feeding?

Don't know if someone has actually tested the honey in controlled conditions but bees-sipping-cola is pretty much a common sight all across the globe.

HFCS isn't synthetic... it's natural, so the honey should be made up of natural sugars too! BTW, honey is one of the most crappy superfoods available today.

Honeybees like to 'eat' forever, so lack of flowers etc isn't the issue. Even if they had plenty of plantation at their disposal, they'd like to sip cola if it's readily available. Therefore, until someone performs tests under controlled condition, you'll never know if the cola or HFCS is affecting anything in the honey so produced. Though people feed colored sugary drinks to bees to make them change color.
