Hotfile or Megaupload?

As we all know that RS has just lied down in it's own coffin with the new ridiculous Rapid points policy, I'm planning to shift to something better.

So our obvious 2 options include HF or MU. Now for people who have used both of these services, which is the best in your opinion and why? Also which one of these offer a bigger library of older content on it, as in 80's and 90's stuff uploaded?

Also are there any speed issues that I should know of? With my RS premium and Airtel 1Mbps, I peak at around 170Kbps while downloading. Can I expect the same with MU?
 
Although i have premium MU Membership for lifetime and thanks to jdownloder, I would vote for HOTFILE as a lot lot people say it helps uploaders in numerous way like for eg FTP uploads or remote uploads.

But its your money and thought.. I would say go by heart

Hotfile Ethan any day ,links are not killed as fast as Megaupload .I have both of them though i use hotfile most of the time and iyengar what is that MU life time free with Jdownloader ??
 
I'm not much of an uploader, but what exactly is remote uploads?

I'm leaning more towards MU for some reason. Does HF have any quota restriction? What about the links availability?
 
HF doesn't have any restriction i have downloaded 200GB in 4 days did not have any issues .Its way better than rapidshare and links are available all over the internet.Pm me if u want any specific link you are looking for .HF is $35 USD for 6 months which is cheaper than stupid rapidshare.I used rapidshare for a year then gave it up after that rapid points came in and links get deleted way faster than any other website.
 
It does seem cheap. Prashant has the 1 year HF subscription going for Rs.2,500/- and Rs.2,700/- for MU. I'll just scout around the net for some time and see if there are links that I need on HF as well.

I only meant to say i have premium MU Acct for lifetime (neverdie) and I use jdownloader for all my downloads which works hassle free.

I would go with Megaupload. I have been using MU with Jdownloader(without a premium account) and i can download whole day long without entering the captcha even once. So its like having a premium account which is very good. On the other hand hotfile with Jdownloader i havent tried cuz i havent seen many Hotfile links or forums providing hotfile links. Maybe metalspree can share his sources :P .. MU on the other hand has a dedicated forum to itself.
 
My vote goes to Hotfile :P But I don't think you might get Hf links for older content.

Don;t go for 1 year accounts go for max 6 months you never know what crappy policies one may come up with :P
 
Dam! So man HF supporters. I would like to try it for a month, but 500 bucks is expensive deal. It should be able to suck the whole speed out of my Internet connection, like RS does with IDM.
 
No i use IDM ,off lately IDM is eating away my memory ,when a file is rebuilding it eats up all the memory i can even play a song ,is Jdownloader good does it suck all the speed like IDM does ,can i use site logins with it ??

without a premium account you can download all day long with jdownloader.Could you elaborate plz?
 
^^ I guess it means that just copy paste the links and it will download the files ones by one (or may be parallel ??? ) and you dont need to take effort of going to MU site through the download link, entering the captcha and then wait for 45 seconds or so.

I would personally vouch for megaupload. Gives decent speeds for a non premium customer. with resume function.
Upto what i have experienced, hotfile has better uploading features but the speeds suck for non premium user.
With megaupload there are many links with single file uploads upto 4gb max hotfile is capped for 200mb i guess.
 
I don't upload anything, so any perks of uploading wouldn't concern me. I think I'll settle for MU and also get some additional RS points from Ebay, so I can alternate between both of them.
