Hi Guys...
The service pack 1 has been released few days ago. So i was thinking about slipstreaning the sp1 into the installation source, burn a new disc and use it as I reinstall mu OS too often !!!

But I cant do it, there is no info available on the net too abt this.

The only workaround I found was to put the extracted sp1 inside the updates folder so that it gets installed initially.

But there are two problems..

1.The size of the source will grow to over 900 mb so it wont fit in a reguler disc
2.The installation becomes pathetically slow..

So is there any way I can do a real slipstream of the office 2007 sp1 ???

Thnx and regards

The update workaround gave me the "all updates were not applied" message when installing. Did it work fine with you?

see if this technique mentioned here works
Do NOT just copy your CD to your HD! Doing so will cause the setup files to grow to more than 900mb, and you will not be able to burn them to CD.

Instead, use the following steps:

Insert the Office System (2003) CD into your drive, from the "Start" button select "Run" and type
x:\setup.exe /a
Office System (2003) SP2 Slipstreaming

Ya....this method is working for me..but taking almost 30 mins to get the office installed..normally it takes abt 5-7 mins

Hmm....office 2003 slipstreaming method.....let me give it a try !!!!

Nopes...it isnt working for me...may be I need the administrative sp1 (I dont know whether its available for office2007 or not )...

Community service....hahaha...you got it right buddy....its sort of community service at the end...LoL

Btw ...as far as slipstreaming vista sp1...I think you can do this by vlite..

No..Most v can do by vlite would be a silent install at time of installation of vista..Which again as in office 07 case wud take a lot of time..

nuhi is working hard on it..lets see...Something to do with the structure of sp1 and vista setup..:@

Hmmm..I wasnt aware of that..

Well vlite will surely support integration of vista sp1 at the time of sp1 release..lets hope for that

Vista has a component based architecture. Removing the files from the list of files to be copied is probably not enough, he'll probably have to know about how to modify certain stores and log files etc...

Anyway, MS will release information on how to slipstream SP1. It is very critical for enterprises, and in fact they use PE images rather than installs ;)

Yeah thats wat they are using now to create an instal disk with sp1, install vista, install sp1, use microsoft tools to make that install.wim file(the main install file..hope the name is correct..) from the installed vista but before creating users and all..

But then thats hardware limited right??

As of now, but they'll probably release a slipstreaming method too.... or someone will figure out one :)
Dunno, been reading that ms wont release any slipstreaming for sp1..:(
As for corporate clients they can be easily supplied an sp1 integrates dvd by ms...

Someone will figure out...no doubts abt that...:hap5:
