Forum Feedback How about an urgent section

I was thinking that on needs like this

-building a PC
-general talk
-buying a car
-buying a CPU or GPU

suggestions can roll over for days

but things like
-got to get the pc working by tommorrow
-got to recover data urgently

needs urgent help and special consideration!

so how about having a differrent section for this?:)
 
I guess the problem is everyone needs an 'urgent' response, but then end up taking the final decision much later, sometimes days or even months later. So what gets clarified as 'urgent'. Also the regulars at TE do answer most threads :)
 
This is a tech community, not a tech support. If someone can't help you out or don't have a solution to a problem, its obvious they will not reply (unless one simply wants to pump up post counts and ask silly questions). Judging by the type of crowd techenclave now attracts, most will be putting up threads over there and eager to look for urgent replies. If they need a solution that quick, people should make an effort to run a search as most of the issues are solved by some other member at one point or another.

Besides, I think its best if sections are kept as simple as possible- don't we all wish to resolve our hardware issue or get our backup done as soon as possible, even if one has the luxury to waste time?
 
from the quality of most of the treads in concerned hardware section.. if feels that the person requesting for help does not provide enough information to begin with.

with introduction of urgent section..it will get worse..

it so happens that people do not want to do their research to begin with. They simple want others to do research for them..and even after that..at the end they will still follow what their neighbour said etc...which again we can't argue with.

basically now people do not even want to use google before typing in a query.

Dont you think the Urgent section will be most used and abused by those kind of people rather than those who want to invest their own time in research too?

Well then we will have threads like 'My media player doesn't play xxx video format. Help needed URGENT!' :P

On a serious note, people will exploit that section IMO :)
 
I think people can usually find out where someone needs real guidance in urgency. Though it shouldt hurt giving it a try. After all isnt it about few clicks here and few there.Some read some unread threads
