Is it SAFE to ship a 24" LCD Monitor cross country, say from West i.e Mumbai to East say assam ??
this was primarily meant for a inchannel shipment through distributor HO @Mumbai to distributor @assam,but@ 11th hr,the distributor is citing other reasons& unscheduled delays to doing shipment within their channel!
so..at this moment, left with No other option, but to do shipment of the LCD on personally, the dealer aggreing to ship that insured Air shipping with a preferable reputed courier like GATI, to the required destination!

The deal is done & Money paid so it's a closed deal atm!
So,is it Safe to go with this sort of shipping ? Can the LCD handle it & the package & the LCD come in a single piece?..or is it too fragile for such shipment ?..are there any extra precaution/packaging to be taken here..& how to go about it?...do any of you have done such similar purchase & shipment of LCD Monitors on Personal basis..what experience do u have..r the risk too much or am i thinking too much?

*I don't want to face a situation where on arrival of the LCd
to destination,it looks like this :

**These questions are very important to know, coz mainly for claiming warranty,if anything BAD happens in shipment & co refuses to provide warranty then!

***btw,do u guys know,in general, how do the co's transport their stuff in lot from One end lof the country to the other, speaking here particularly of fragile electronic goods like LCD TV & monitors..do they Air ship or make a Road shipment?

I am the actual buyer here,so concerned much.
now,if u have the answers, plz tell!...thiis is actually the 11th hour b4 the planned shipping is done!
So,plz put in ur replies ASAP!
Thanks in Advance.

If possible use BlueDart, they handle LCD"s for all major brands even DELL & they are much safe... Otherwise Gati is also good.. The original packing is good enough to handle transit bumps. These two companies ship a lot of LCD"s across India.

But there will always be a slight chance of damage even with the best, if you really get unlucky... So my advice is to insure your package before shipping....

yes, insurance will be provided as per sellers promise!
i suppose there are here lot of fellows, buying their LCD's Online,.do any1 have a negative shipment with LCD's damaged in shipping .. ?...more feedbacks required, hurry it up guys!

btw the picture posted is a plasma, lcds are significantly better in respect to transportation as long as u pack it up well, with the same box and packaging material.

it will be of course with the same box & packaging material as brought,as far as i get from the talk with the dealer!..but is any extra packaging from outside of the package is necessary to be more durable & make it more risk free ?..what say..any1 have any personal experience in these issues?.

..moreover,purchase of dell monitors( the LCD i am talking about is NOT dell though) is almost Online & they do it through Air shipment only...so asking all those who have gone for dell monitors, faced any damage issues in the shipment?.....& also i think, there are many fellas who buy directly from ebay sellers like BenQ,Samsung & viewsonic monitors, what about them?..do u guys have ever faced damges to LCD while shipping???

Sincerely, your feedback is of Paramount Importance...so plz make all the Honest replies fast!
