Hi
Im sorry if this has been asked before (it didnt come up in the search) but I owe a Sony 550i and a V3 Rzr (my mum's).The former has a IDEA GPRS conn while the latter an Airtel

I need net acess in my holiday house in Manali and the only option which looks promising is the GPRS conn thtough I have no clue how to set it up.

Also what kind of speeds can I accept on an Airtel GPRS Conn? I need a fast conn for work since I work with a lot of images and large files.
Thnaks and how stable is the GPRS conn?

Sorry to drone on :)

expect 15-30kbps on Airtel GPRS

you needto tell us the connectivity method between your laptop and the phone....

you'll need anyone of these connectivity methods

- Cable (DCU5 for SE, no idea about Motorola)

- IR

- Bluetooth

once the connectivity is up, you need to install your phone model as a Modem on ur laptop:hap5:

don't expect to work with large files....gprs connections are good enough only for checking mails/light pages/chatting

on the good side, airtel gprs is fairly stable and you shouldn't face disconnection issues

Well.. you need GPRS to be active..

Motorola Phone tools installed.. And then just need the USB to Mini-USB Cable (comes with the phone itself), and in phone tools, all you need to do it click internet connection...

something like this..

simple is use bluetooth with w550. set up a dial up connection in which u select bluetooth modem. That is all. Speed is ok and depends on network.
