Laptops How do I claim warranty on a Lenovo laptop?

Hi there. I hope you're all doing well. My dad's personal laptop hasn't been working fine for the past few days (shuts off randomly, even when connected to power brick) and my guess is something related to the thermals of the laptop. I'd change the paste by myself but I still have a working warranty (bought last August and might expire anytime soon.)

Bought offline from a nearby Lenovo store but had DOS and I also installed a RAM stick by prying the back open. Not sure if those would affect the warranty. The model is Lenovo V330-14ARR(U) if I remember correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a lovely day.

(Sorry if this is a very elementary question to ask. Never claimed warranty on anything hence would appreciate it.)

No, upgrading RAM will not void warranty on your laptop. Lenovo has 1800 number for warranty. 1800-3000-7678
Call it, keep your bill and serial number nearby just in case they ask you to verify those things. If inside warranty, they will direct you regarding what you need to do. If it has on site warranty, engineer would visit and solve your issue. if its carry in (its model dependent) they will direct you to nearest SC. If they need to keep your laptop for repairs, ask them to open and give you your RAM stick back or you can do it yourself before visiting SC. Before pandemic, the lenovo service was relatively painless. I am not sure how much the pandemic has affected their service at the moment.

Thank you so much! Will get it done then. :)

if on the back of the laptop it has separate covver for ram, you can do it,, if its a single backpannel opening which can expose everything.. it will void warranty..

alsofor Lenovo i would recommend register ontheir site and get addition 1 year warranty.... Lenovo laptop nowdays develops some issue over the time
they have eveythign ontheir record, if you get it upgraded from official Lenovo guys, it will show in their system... other else if they see upgraded ram, you must justify it..

again it all depends on the back panel.. earlier they had separate back panel for RAM and HDD,, opening that was allowed, but now they have single back panel, opening that opens entire back side and shows the mother board and other part... contact lenovo first and get it cleared
