How do I go about owning a hard copy of Satanic Verses?

It is banned for sale/buying in India. I cannot import it. After Googling, I learnt that it will be fine if you can carry it with you while entering the country. So has anyone here tried or know about it?

Item ships to India at 12+10 usd.
To be safer side use freight forwarding services instead of Amazon shipping

Have you ordered via Amazon or ppobox ? What's the customs message?

^I don't have much details now. I can fetch if needed. It was ordered from Amazon and held at customs. And when I asked Amazon CC, they said its banned for import.[DOUBLEPOST=1451899256][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes that's what happens if you order from Amazon , use a freight forwarding service instead like ppobox, it won't get caught.
BTW ban is going to be lifted soon I guess.

Safest option is to ask someone coming from USA to carry along, with well covered.

Why would you order it from Amazon...? Knowing it is banned, and then discuss it here. Only someone can carry it in, that too checked in.
