hi.. evryun...I need an online portal which has... questions on how things work... lets say.. some out of the obvious questions..... since trivia kinda..aslo invoving technology.......eg
1) Wh is there high whining sound when we insert a cd rom bud fades away fast...
2) why is the third pin of a 3pin plug bigger than the others.....
Plz help me out guys.... i need as many sites as u can give..... Ill be realy grateful..thnx(make sure it has the answers too)

about your 3 pin plug, its to do with earthing the circuit i think. The pin is bigger because when you plug it into the wall socket, the earth connection takes place first. That way, even if there is a fault in the electrical connection inside your appliance causing current to leak, it would be grounded immediately.

howstuff works is known.... can i have some other sites plz.... googling doesnt help..... WHat was the ans to the first query anyway??

^^ its the sound of the drive motor..it usually rotates at 3000-4000 RPMs, hence the noise....

fades away fast...when motor slows or stops, the sound obv fades away :P
