I've read quite a few complaints on some consumer court forums that despite registering for DND services multiple times, some (or many) operators aren't stopping their spam messages and calls. Also, I (and other people) keep having money deducted from my (our) balance for some weird service and messaging packs that I (we) didn't even subscribe for. I would go so far as to say that I don't even mind that telecom operators want to make some money through these spam messages, calls and service packs, but they should at least intimate the customer about these things when he/she is buying a new SIM (or maybe they did and I didn't pay attention). After activating DND I have started to get spam calls from landline and mobile numbers.
By Reliance too.I activated dnd on my Vodafone number 2 yrs back. No spam calls since then. Still get the occasional spam SMS from unknown numbers even now.
I think that unknown pack activation is done by airtel primarily. They've been doing that sort of work from past few years.
How do you blacklist a number? Is it something specific to a particular cell phone or is it specific to a service provider?[DOUBLEPOST=1370694510][/DOUBLEPOST]Earlier i used to get calls from 1409 xxxxxxx number but after DND those calls stopped but calls from landline and mobile numbers have started. Including the 1409 numbers I have 36 numbers blacklisted and I keep on adding more as and when a call comes.
I use a sms blocker for sms spam. very effective. Not found any effective call blocker for Android yet though.

Helped me with blocking Tastykhana messages. They are just a nuisance once you give them your number. Never had sms issues with justeat or foodpanda.I use a sms blocker for sms spam. very effective. Not found any effective call blocker for Android yet though.
