This works only with legit subscriptions. You aren't actually subscribed to spam. Plus the problem as I said earlier is, Indian spammers do not honour the so called unsubscribe requests.[DOUBLEPOST=1399118745][/DOUBLEPOST]

I can second that!!! Its finally working for me at yahoo. I religiously marked 100s of emails as spam every week! I dont know if that or yahoo improved their spam filters, but finally no spam on my 15 year old yahoo account!
 
Looks like i am late.
I did not even get a Spam email until the letsbuy got acquired by flipkart. Reportedly Letsbuy sold email list to third party and from then i've been getting at least 3 spam emails every day. Read: http://www.medianama.com/2013/03/223-the-ugly-side-of-email-marketing-in-india/
Even though i unsubscribe and mark most of them as spam, i get hundreds of marketing emails every month.
I have learnt recently that Homeshop18 sold off its email list to third party. I have decided not to provide my personal email id to these b**tards from now on.
 
Its better to make a new email Id just for these shopping sites. Just change old email address in old sites wherever possible.

I used outlook; and I liked it. I actually went ahead and forwarded all my mails from yahoo to outlook. And then one day; loads of spam started; which outlook didn't filter. Stopped forwarding since; stuck on yahoo(secondary mail) since.
