Laptops how is acer 4520??

Well had saved money for iphone..but after seeing it price i decided better to get a entry level lappy which can help me learn basic animation and read other pdf....

so how is this acer 4520??and also whts the best price heard it to b as low as 28k so far
 
Its really good for its price as compared to other intel based laptops.

It runs FEAR, NFS MW, WARCRAFT pretty nicely for a Laptop.

I recently bought one for a friend of mine for Rs.29500-/-

1.9Ghz AthlonX2, 2gbTRANSCEND DDR2667Mhz, 160GB HDD, 14.1'', VGA WEBCAM, and other regular features.+ NYLON back Pack

1gb ram model costs 28500-/-.

How about Asus Eee pc -10inch with win xp with 6 cell batt with 6 Hr back up for 25.5k
 
okk just one question how is the quality of these lappies 4520 and 4720..and how is acer service in india???..heard its not very good
 
Acer machines tend to be decent but the QA on Acer falls short of expectations

Read as : There's a good chance you may end up with a lemon, or a system with a bad LCD yada yada yada
 
been using the 4520 since oct'07.

The Good:
- Cheap
- Decent config
- Webcam, Bluetooth... the works

Bad:
- keyboard skips when typing real fast (IBM spoiled me :bleh:)
- Battery lasts max up to 2 hrs (3 yr old IBM still gives 3.5hrs)

Would i buy acer again? well seeing the Value for Money... yes.. actually thinking of getting the acer aspire one for dad.
 
m usin it screen is grt bluetooth wont work with xp but vista only, battry not really grt u may get it for 26-27 here in delhi also dont forget to get a driver cd
 
Hey this is a good one..i have this for a year and its still good..i use maya 2008, max 2009 and v-ray also..it renders in good speed.... go 4 it.
ma keyboard is good and is very good wen typin fast(maybe i've lucky fingers)

Juct checked yday. The Acer 4530 is out and with dealers now. I got a Quote of 29.75k :)

Its got a faster 2.0GHz AMD proccy and the 9100M Geforce chipset. That will be great for animation. Its supposed to be equivalent to the 8400GS in performance :O Upgrade RAM for and you are set :)

I got the exact same model a week back with 2GB RAM. Works fine. The only thing that sucks in it is the battery back-up. It is just 2 hrs :(
 
i guess many people here probably hate acer and say just get the dell or the hp. its easier said than done. i have had an acer for 2 years and trust me its damn good. it might not look as good as the others id admit that. mines perfect till now. to top it all its on amd proccy, and its in excellent shape, main reason is that its in dads room most of the time cuz we never take it out. i added another 1gb to it this year its faster now coming from 256mb in those days. i am looking for another acer as well but nothing i like from them. the top end acer i saw with media keys is 50k so i think ill choose hp then. id say under 40k budget look nowhere but acer unless u want to show off ur sony, dell or hp.
