How is Asus laptop warranty service in india and Suggest laptop battery for Toshiba

Hi Friends,

I'm planning to buy a laptop in couple of months(post Christmas) and here in oz i found out asus - n61jq-jx002v (i7,ATI HD5730M 1GB ,4GB,640GB HDD) for around $1200-1300@42.
Only downside is it is of 16" screen.

How is Asus warranty and service in india and are there any centers in Hyderabad.

Should i go for asus or any suggestions other brands like toshiba,Dell. No Acer.

Also I was looking for battery for my old TOSHIBA Satellite A215-S5818. Its a AMD make. In this forum they had suggested for AGPTEK batteries are good. And in there site they had 6 & 9 Cell for A215 series but the exact model number are not there.

Why don't you get a Dell Studio XPS 16 instead? I am sure you will get one in that price bracket.

Well I look into dell studio xps but they are bit expensive for the same config in oz.
Also how is asus warranty service in india. Are there are no asus owners. for the model they are giving 2 years warranty.

Also what are the suggestions for the battery?

Asus: Need to check if warranty is through Rashi or some other service provider. If its Rashi for laptops, then you better go for something else. :)

I don't know about ASUS laptops but for their CPU components M/s.Rashi Peripherals is the support. Dell Studio XPS 16 is USD 1300 for i7+4GB+500GB+ATI5730. I think thats a well priced package. Check out Dell Coupons and Deals.

Customs duty will definitely be charged. Moreover if you select budget shipping like USPS, you will never know the exact date of delivery as it gets lower priority for customs clearance and then gets shipped by India Post. You will most probably have to collect the item from your local post office as customs duty is collected by the post office. Okay enough of scary stuff.

There are other options:

1. Check your local market, they must be having something in stock that just works.

2. Check on eBay India

3. Try eBay Global Easy Buy. If you are lucky to find one, you can avail one of the coupons to get upto 10% or Rs. 1000 discount. Also, all prices are displayed including Customs Duty.

4. Check with HCL Support. Last time I checked, they were the one who were handling Toshiba India sale and after-sales.
