How is LG?

I am researching on cellphones to decide what to buy. Looking at all my basic requirements, I find the LG KG200 to be the cheapest phone to have all the features I want. Although I have been quite a satisfied customer of LG for TV and DVD players, I am not sure about how good their phones are.
Anyone who has a LG phone or knows a friend who has one may please give me their feedback.
3 questions I have in that connection:
1. How reliable? Low failure rate?
2. Signal strength.
3. Battery talk time.

Also any feedback on Nokia 6085?

i have heard the battery life of LG aint that good..just barely manages to last for arnd 1 1/2 days..have heard mixed reviews abt the kg 300 ..but since i have not seen it personally..i cant comment any further.

I have a c2500.

its battery life IS 1.5 days . but thats with heavy gprs/cam/mp3 usage

failure rate... me + a few guys i know bought the same fone. they havent had any problems

me ?

i got about 500 jar files for games :D tried installing every one of them .

colin mcrae rally crashed it real bad

couldnt install anything after it. went to service center. guy keyed in some service codes.. then phone starts rebooting and reebooting

guy confiscates fone, says will give replacement

2 weeks later , i have a new phone in hand.

2 days later i find that when it takes pics,a semi transparent bar shows up when i take pics in sunlight. service center guy claims its part of UI :|

either way, i bought it to play games/browse/listen to music, and i have a camera anyway, and i cant lose my phone for another 2 weeks

MORAL? check if your service center is good. then buy an LG fone. I bet I'd have had better luck if my LG service center wasnt a shack with a guy and an apprentice , without even a hint that its the authorised service center!

but fact remains that at this price point, nothing comes close..

I used the LG Kg300 for a week....It's quite a decent phone.. amazing screen, decent camera...

The phone seemed quite sturdy, talk time was one and half day on average use, signal strength was quite good too..

OK thnx for the feedback all of you. I think I'll give LG a miss.

What are the opinions on the Nokia 6085, Samsung E250 and SE Z530i?

Most essential requirement apart from the basic phone and messaging function are MP3 player (obviously expandable memory is essential with the MP3 player feature) and a basic camera. VGA camera is fine although a 1.3 MP is prefered if the price premium is minimal.

FM radio is not essential but if it comes for free I'll take it :D.

BTW the phone is for a young girl (my daughter actually) so keep the feminine user in mind. BD's advice most welcome.

Is there a candy bar with the required features in this (7K) price range?

why a candybar?

the z530i and the z550i are both great options , and females love them :P

the K510 has a 1.3MP cam but not expandable :(

sony has a w200 in the works , but dunno when it will be released

if she's not gonna use it a LOT , then i guess an LG can be quite fine ( plus i hear the kg200/300 Dynamites are better than the c2500/2600!)

In pictures at least the Z530i looks more feminine than the Z550i. Perhaps it is because I have generally seen the Z530i in the girly sort of colours.

Where's BD for the female perspective? Hope she sees this post.
