How is Tata Indicom B'band?

I wanted to know how it is, pings specifically, and any downtimes, my cable operator is very keen on taking bandwith from them.. even if i dont get great speeds, i need good pings to game servers, so if anyone using it, any feedback wud be really appritiated...
 
aree, i know the prices, but can anyone tell me how good or reliable they are? and Pings!! what pings does this connection gives to international servers..
 
the pings on Tata are as good as sify, i had chance to try tata and pings were almost same.

In the end it boils down to how local cablewala maintains his network. if the last mile connection is not done properly every cable net will suck. Thats where DSL is better. Unfortunately only Airtel is good. Triband/Dataone pings are not that great.
 
my friend said that the pings are not very good (arnd 150 to 175 to sg servers). but as someone already posted, it also depends on the cable guys routing
 
The service is good for my friend. There has been no downtime till date. He was getting excellent speeds when he initially got it arnd 70KB/sec for 64 unlimited. but as he spread the word of goodness its reduced to 20K/sec these days.

that must be it.. i always get 250+ pings on SG servers.. :(
 
on bad days i get pings of 100-120. On normal day 80-90 and on good day i get ping of 60 on SGwar servers.

try this link and look for ip address.

If its 210.214.10.XX or 210.214.11.XX then disconnect and reconnect again until you get anything other than 10.xx and 11.xx.

Those two are bad nodes on Sify. They give horrible pings.

I get assigned to those nodes once in a while and sometimes that same node again and again.

wow man.. thats an eye opener.. like u said, rarely,very rarely i get 60-80 pings.. but mostly its the 250+ range for me.. will take ur advice and try to work on it :) hopefully it will work.. and i can pwnz u.. :devil:
 
...when i used tata for 1 month and a few days...had downtime of about 20 days[horrible customer care...everytime "yes sir we shall have it resolved by tomorrow"]....was on 512 kbps....pings were all right....dl speeds on HTTP/FTP wen to about 55 KB/sec...torrents were about 20-30 KB/sec...if i was lucky sometimes i got 50 KB/sec out of it

even so in those 10-15 days i did use it i still managed to exceed my cap of 10 GB....to about 24....lol...meh mum went ballistic

...i wouldnt get it...but hey maybe ok now :S
 
I'm using Tata Indicom BB 64kbps and i get 88 kbps ;)
I would like to help, so could you please tell me HOW to find out a ping (time) to a game server (and a game server example)?
