Android how long can we use our tablets for after OS and security updates have stopped?

Twist in the tale - I ended up cancelling my order for the tab from Flipkart and will be consciously trying to avoid Flipkart for a long time now unless the beast of lust takes over my mind soon. Right after placing the order I noticed a funny thing that the seller was showing a longer than usual, delivery date for the order. Supposed to be delivered by 6th June, 10 days later. This played on my mind for quite some time yesterday and finally at night I ended up googling the seller, Indiflashmart. What emerged was a can of worms about this dubious seller who it seems has a very poor track record (despite having 4.5 stars on FK) and there was even a YT video talking about how the seller shows a very big window of dates for delivery and finally cancels the product from their end. And since FK is an AI-driven business :wideyed::mad::yuck:like most other Indian big names, human support is very difficult to reach to get your refund processed. (I can vouch for this). I also read about people getting damaged products from the seller. All in all, seemed too risky. Maybe I should have googled the seller prior to buying but was led astray by the ratings on FK. I'm no noob buyer but yes this was a close shave. And after reading about horror stories of FK here and in other places, I'm beginning to make up my mind that FK is another Indian business that simply runs in the typical Indian style of doing things and is slowing biting the dust.

Based on my experience with Android tabs, I feel this will be a lot shorter, the tabs in my family get shelved in few years
But Android apps tend to support much older Android versions compared to iOS. On iOS, apps tend to stop working the moment an iOS version becomes outdated. So, in the overall picture, there is not as big a difference as it seems on paper, although there may be exceptions to this.

This is happening to me on Amazon.in, it shows 1-2 days delivery when adding to cart, but right after placing the order it shows a different delivery day - 3-10 days more!!! It's happening with the major sellers like Clicktech Retails etc (but not always)! Very frustrating. If I have time I tolerate it but if I am travelling I am forced to cancel...
