One of my numpad keys on my dell Inspiron 1564 is acting funny. Might have to replace the keyboard itself. Just wanted a headsup on the pricing.

Also I already know the answer would be NO but can I change this to a backlit keyboard. Just asking :P

You would need to buy from ebay.com - seems to be 15USD plus extras. As for the backlighting - AFAIK, check if there is a model with backlight AND your laptop should have a free port near the keyboard port which seems like a backlight port. If no model has B/L support - try to see if the keyboard used in the 1564 is also used in any other machines - check whether they have B/L support. Its a bit tedious - but you will get your answers.
 
Hey thanks. Though I got it fixed locally few minutes back. Went to small shop in my vicinity where I get my printer toner cartridges refilled. The guy told me a new keyboard costs in the range of 1200 odd rupees. Fixed the key temporarily by replacing the rubber under the key from another dead keyboard lying around. Costed me 50 bucks. Not bad for a working fix. Though the key press is now different from the other keys but its del key on the numpad which has alternatives on the keyboard so its kind of OK.
