How much for website+blog/forum+domain+hosting+maintenance?

One of my friends has been asked to design a website by an orthopaedics association.Also they wanted a blog alongwith it so they could post and discuss on topics.I advised himto go for a forum rather than a blog for such purposes.

He is quite proficient in asp.net and is thinking of using it to design the website, but doesn't know how to go about designing the forum.

Also the problem is having never done this before,we don't have much idea on how much to ask for the whole thing as they want a complete product with domain+hosting included.

The intended audience for the site should be just a couple of hundred people.

They being doctors have litle time to tinker around with ttlhe website, said that they would like us to maintain the website for them which would include posting whatever stuff they want to he displayed on the site as they don't want to do even that.

So i would like the guidance of the community on the following topics:

1) Would we need different hosts for the website and the forum?

2) How much to ask for the website+ forum and how much for the maintenance?

3) Which would be the best free forum creating software commonly supported by hosting companies?

P.S.- The work will be done by a team of three people with the help of a freelance designer if needed.

1)One hosting account is enough for everything unless you want 2 domains for the site and forum separately.
2)It depends on personal value i.e how much is your hard work worth to you and how much your client can afford.
3)phpBB is the No1 in free forum software but whatever software taken Customizing is the main part.

1) One hosting is enough but you need two databases. Few basic hosting plans give only one database with hosting. So make sure you have two.
