How much money do you spend every year on computer upgrades??

So like the title says,how much money(on average) do you spend every year on your computer upgrades(or for buying a new computer)?? Also how much money do you make every year and what percentage of your income or your father's income do you spend on those upgrades?

I know it sounds a little wierd (asking how much money do they make) but i would like to know the average amount poeple usually spend on these things.
 
hmmm.. well ...there was a time when computers were insanely costly.. .. and on the basis of purchases then, my last puchase( last year) was cheapest! :lol: !

around 50k.. but yeah spent money on buying a new psu+ cabby + hdd's... so thats around 17k!!!

and now looking to buy some high cfm fans, so that would be easily 2k atleast! it just never stops!!
 
I spend every paisa I get on computer hardware. I have 4 full computers and lots of peripherals .... dont earn a penny as I am retired but all my Bithday Money and Divali money as well as my Clothes money goes into my computer ... cannot give an amount as I dont have any regular income. I keep a record of my purchases and on checking I find I have already made 15 purchases this year and will be making one more shortly.
 
well not much compared to some others....Feel guilty to splurge...

25k a year...thats about it...

This year its lot more and will increase as I wish to own the del 24"....

But I cant afford to buy high end rams for super-pi score...Thats for some richie rich folks around here ;)
 
I am more of a gizmo lover than a PC upgrade fan....

+ have certain other interests that excite me a lot more than PCs or gizmos :P yet I end up spending over 10% of my income on Technology which is the money I should rather be saving :(
 
i dont spend..much on upgrades ..got my comp 2.5 years ago for around 28-30 k..and after that i upgraded only in the last 8 months..and have just spent on upgrading the following components :

ram -1800+dvd writer-2200-6600gt-4000-psu-1000.

so total around Rs. 9000-10,000...a very small amount of my dad's salary...
 
I used to spend about 50-60k a year prior to 2006, but my latest PC build costed me more than 100k from June until now... sad thing is this PC will be outdated by June 2007 lol.
 
^Too much here as well. Once you start earning,and you don't depend on your parents for upgrades, zoooommmmmmmmmmmm...... that's the sound of my money disappearing from my bank account...

Well in that case also it will still be 10% of what he earns ;)
Messa not upgrade much... just pick up second hand parts..though not cheap...

Not much of a gadget lover, though looking for a mobile and a second hand lappy... but one will be in this years quota and the other in next years...

20K per year for gadgets is a rough estimate.
 
from past 6-7 years spending too much on PCs and gadgets :( ...... every year i take resolution that this year no spending on computer but still ..... so far this year haven't spend much other than minor upgrades ....... but have to spend a lot in 07' can't delay it anymore lol .......
 
Let me see. I haven't upgraded from the time i got my comp, well thats more than five years :D ,unless you call an additional 128MB Ram as an upgrade lol....

But will soon start spending ;)
