Hey guys

I have 2 PCs, both at different ends of the house they share the same Internet connection through a netgear router through cables.

I want to be able to access the whole file system of the PCs, from one PC to another without any restrictions(from win 7) or issues.

Which software can I use for this?

Assuming both the PCs run Windows 7... do the following

1. Go to Computer

2. Right click on the drive to share and you'll see a option "share with"

3. It gives "Advanced Sharing options".

4.Click on it and you will be on "Sharing Tab" of "Drive properties".

5.Click on Advanced sharing

6. Check share this folder.

7. You can change the default permissions for the Everyone group by selecting the desired permissions (Full Control, Change, Read) under the Allow or Deny column.

8.To add other users or groups, click the Add button.

9. Under Enter the Object Names to Select, type the account name of the person you would like to add, and click Check Names.

If the account name is found, Windows underlines your entry and also adds the name of the computer to the beginning of the account name.

10. Click OK.

You are returned to the Permissions dialog box.

11.Select the added user’s account name, and then modify the permissions as desired. (as in Step 7) Click OK.

Windows 7 assigns the permissions you specified to the selected hard disk.

A bit of a change in the situation,

1. Internet comes to MTNL router.

2. Cable from MTNL router goes to Router 1.

3. Cable from router 1 goes to PC 1.

4. Cable from router 1 goes to router 2.

3. Cable from router 2 goes to PC 2.

How can PC 1 access PC2?

Make router 1 to dial PPPOE for MTNL as well as act as DHCP server.

Make router 2 to work in bridge mode (to act as switch ) so that it can relay the protocols and DHCP to the PC2.

So you can find the two PCs on same network (Make sure you add them to same workgroup)

You can find network shares list with ease with the following application
