I ve O2 (Xda Atom Exec) with windows 5.0 installed on it.
I want to connect it to internet through my PC (which has net connection via LAN).
Can ne1 help me.
Also every time I sync my phone i get a message that "Unable to obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network Settings."

Connect your phone to ActiveSync via bluetooth. You should be able to access the net from your mobile then.

even a USB cord for activesync sync will do. so i use wired internet on PPC or sometiems on Bluetooth. speed on bluetooth is comparitavely less than a usb connection

U must have got a CD with it, install the suite and u should be able to use the phone as a modem connected via USB. Its really as simple as that :cool2:

If u r already using internet on ur phone that means u already have the settings. Just install the PC suite and the PC will configure itself and the phone as modem.

Bluetooth dongle costs less than Rs.200. But buying it will not solve ur problem. You must get ur phone to connect to internet via USB. :)

I think he wants to do the opposite

May be its for fun. May be he wants free net in mobile, so that he can use it even when he is in bed. Lot of reasons are there.
Our own Superczar has written an article long back on how to access net from PC to Nokia mobile. :bleh:

general time pass stuff...if there's nothing better to do, get a cheap thrill by doing this...

It's not of mucho practical usage but nevertheless, if it's there and can be done, then should be done :ohyeah:

ActiveSync works perfectly fine here. I'm busy in a race in GTR2 or any other game for that matter, I can keep an eye on IRC/IM messages and browse a bit without having to alt-tab :P Of course its useful if you don't have WiFi like myself!

wat are the settings for tht??

My device is 2 days old but as far as I can remember, these are the steps :P - get the latest Active Sync - 4.5! On the Windows Mobile, go to Settings - Connections - USB to PC. Enable advanced network functionality. I maybe wrong but try it anyway, I think that should work.

Hi guys, i'm having the same problem here.

I have an HTC P3400. When it was runnign on Windows Mobile 5, i could connect to the internet via USB at least.

Now i've upgraded to a WM 6.1 ROM and i can ActiveSync (with some sync issues) but shows as connected, but i'm not able to acces the net from my phone.

And i'd like to know how to access the net using bluetooth too. i've not tried it before. but now i could pair up and get conencted to active sync via bluetooth (COM pairing?), but still cant access the internet.. :(

Any suggestions?
