How to add FLAC files on my ipod ??

The title explains everything :P

A nice chunk of my music collection is in FLACs. How do I trasnfer it to my ipod ?? Anyway to convert it into 320kbps MP3s or wavs or aacs or whatever ??
 
quality wont be better but you will have a much wider choice of audio formats to choose from

and you can always reset ipod to factory settings using itunes

only thing you will miss is touchwheel interface afaik

I have an ipod photo 4th gen with colour screen.

anish told me there are some issues with rockbox and 4th gen ipods.... any more suggestions ??

And what do you mean I'll lose touchwheel interface ?? how the hell do I use my ipod in that case ?

easier to convert them to apple lossless than rockbox. rockbox eats up a lot of battery also.
read about the pros & cons of rockbox to see what features you get / lose before doing it.

you need to rip your audio cd to flac format. winamp pro & foobar can do it.

flac albums are also there on torrents.

iTunes offers you to convert[compress] music to AAC/AIFF/Mp3/Apple Lossless/Wav.

1.> Click "CTRL + ," key to open Preferences.

2.> Select Apple Lossless here.

WAIT A SEC PLZ FOR THIS IMAGE

3.> Right click any song and then you can convert any song to Apple Lossless.

Right now Rockbox is in development. The software currently requires more power to run than the original firmware, and so the battery life is shorter. With time this will improve. On other platforms Rockbox has actually surpassed the retail firmware in battery life, though of course we can't promise that will happen with Rockbox until we see what the limits are, but it will definitely be better than it is now.

seems touchwheel does work now...either in this or ipodlinux, it was unavailable
