How To add subtitles to a movie permanently ? want to view them in mobile too

hey guess as the title suggests i want to know how can we add or also remove subtitles from a movie permanently ??

i know how to use them temporarily while watching movies

but i want to add the subtitles in a movie > convert it for my mobile > and use the subtitles in my mobile

i tried using a software named aviaddxsub but it dint work

please help me

generally the common formats are .avi, .mp4 and .mkv

currently i am referring to .avi format

and thnxs to all will try each of the softwares mentioned above

@OP, avixaddsub works only devices which support switching on and off of subs [like DVD players and PS3]. For the hardcoding subtitles in your .avi files [I assume that you are talking about downloaded rips which are usually in .avi] with a .srt file [most common format], use virtualdub with vobsub. There a lot of guides virtualdub vobsub - Google Search available.

Use total video converter and hardcode the subs.It allows you to do that.

You can also try Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6. It allows you hardcode the subs and convert it to your required format at the same time.
