How to avoid MTNL internet disconnection when a call comes or we pickup the phone receiver to make a call ?
It doesn't matter If the phone and modem are in same line using splitter or on totally separate lines, it always disconnects. It does reconnect back after receiver is placed back but I don't want the disconnection to happen.

weird. this used to be an issue before, but doesn't happen to me.. my mom always keeps connecting the landline & talking (if it's a long call she's making) but i don't get any discconection. Ofcourse my line is on the primary connection coming to my flat & the phone is connected via the splitter

I think it doesn't disconnect. I tried yesterday some combinations and it seems to not disconnect. But yes sometimes MTNL internet itself disconnects on its own, but that is a separate issue.

That's been happening lately.. i've posted about it on the other thread.

I'm pretty sure there's something wrong lately with their servers or the God damn lines in the rains as usual.. but this year in particular (at least in my area) it's been beyond pathetic

Used to have this issue earlier on with BSNL (Damn those illiterate quota toting sarkaari job people)
Got the line tested and issue got resolved. If the need be, ask the guy if changing the wiring will resolve the issue or not.

Consider using a splitter on any parallel instrument you have in the house.

was facing same issue & doing the bold part in above quote helped. put a splitter on your parallel line. on that splitter also make sure to connect a wire to the unused modem port also. dont know why, but that's needed

So you mean I need to have the same number of splitters as the number of phone lines with phones connected ?
Currently there are 2 points where phone is connected and I have put a splitter in the other (non modem) line also. Just that the ADSL port on the splitter is empty since there is no modem there.

^correct
just connect a wire to that splitter's adsl port, leave the other end of that wire hanging i.e. no need to connect it to anything
