Does anyone know how to hide the last seen timestamp in whatsapp for android?

There are two ways, Mute the guy / girl / group who is irritating you with notifications or stop the application from Settings -> Apps -> Running (tab).

There are few applications on Google Play as well.

Only possible if you block the other person. Otherwise its not possible.

Well, the apps mentioned above dont help at all.

Rather I found this method quite useful. Its a pain to keep on repeating it but it works.

1# disable data/wifi connection using toggle widget (notification toggle should do to)
2# open your whatsapp.. read, send, whatever you like to do so.
3# close whatsapp.
4# enable data/wifi connection from your widget/notification toggle.

Actually rahul I dont want to block anyone. Just dont want them to know my last seen time. The method which I got from google works as mentioned above. And google play apps dont help

under iOS,their is this specific feature which lets you do same.
prevent other to see if you online or not.
