I had suggested one of my friend to use openDNS a long time back. He used to run a cyber cafe and was very irritated by people downloading large files like songs and videos. So he wanted to block websites on the entire LAN. I told him to use openDNS parental control. Not sure if it still works or they have started asking for money. Earlier it was free. People could use it if they want to block website in their absence and have to give away their devices also.
